For many years I was interested in meditation and read information from a range of sources. Carl Jung, Ainslee Meares and Ian Gawler provided my first introduction to meditation.
However I was never what I believed to be a successful meditator!
Then in 2009 I was diagnosed with a very rare type of adrenal cancer and the journey to combat the insidious disease lead me to the Gawler Foundation of which Ian Gawler was the founder. It was then that I learned more about meditation and began to meditate regularly with fervour fuelled by facing my own mortality. I discovered that everyone can meditate and find peace.
I have been a teacher all my life working in primary schools in Australia and overseas. After my diagnosis I chose to leave work at The Wodonga TAFE where I had enjoyed many years teaching adults.
Meditation Albury
In 2010 I trained with The Gawler Foundation to become a meditation teacher. Since then I have taught regular groups in my home to raise money for the Foundation. It has been a wonderful way for me to experience again the joy of teaching and to keep me dedicated to my own meditation practice. In May 2016 I completed Module 2 of the Meditation teacher training with a focus on Imagery and Contemplation. I have since become a registered with Meditation Teacher with the Meditation Association of Australia
